[Dhaka Correspondent] Hundreds of agitated people from Dakua and Fulkhali village under Dakua union of Sidr affected Galachipa upazila under Patuakhali district brought out processions demanding relief Thursday morning. Participants of the procession after assembling before the UNO office compound of Galachipa alleged nepotism, irregularities and corruption in relief distribution. They said union parishad chairman and members thinking about their future in electoral politics enlisting and distributing relief among their supporters only.

Laxman Chandra Debnath, deputy secretary present, controlled the situation by assuring distributing relief among all of distressed people. AKM Mohiuddin Ahmed, upazila nirbahi officer of Galachipa, said although Fulkhali Asrayan area was not severely damaged by Sidr, four tons of rice were distributed there Thursday.

Nesaruddin Gazi, chairman of Dakua UP, denying irregularities in relief works said the demonstration against him was organized by his election rivals to make him unpopular among the voters.
