[Dhaka Correspondent] The High Court Tuesday issued a rule on the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to explain in three weeks why its refusal to accept the taxes of detained former prime minister Khaleda Zia on undeclared income will not be declared illegal.

The High Court bench of Justice MA Rashid and Justice Miftahuddin Chowdhury passed the order after hearing a writ petition filed by Khaleda Zia, who is also the BNP chairperson. Pleading for Khaleda, her counsel Rafique-ul Huq told the court that Khaleda on September 26 deposited Taka 9.45 lakh in taxes on her undeclared money of Taka 36 lakh. Khaleda earned the money from house rent in 2004
