When I was going to BUET in late seventies, we never heard anything about CHT unrest. For us there was no unrest there while our soldiers were carrying out "security operation". We had empathy and sympathy for thousands of causes around the world, but we never cared to find out what was going on in our own country. We all are "Nazis" in some sense.
