Good news that judiciary is going to be separated from the administration. But who is going to separate the judiciary from the dictation of the cantonment. Will the separation bring meaningful independence of judiciary? Barrister Rafique ul-Haq said that he does not expect justice for his clients Begum Khaleda Zia and Shiekh Hasina from this judiciary. He thinks that they can only be freed by political process.

History of Bangladesh has seen a few chief justices becoming the president of military dictators, only to be thrown out at the latter's' convenient time. We are also seeing how a judge forged his educational documents and another found involved in corruption as advisor.
