    So what keeps his associates still out of jail? Asset sharing?

    It’s quite naive of us to think that by arresting these corrupt elites in Bangladesh, that a miraculous recovery from the poverty of the country will occur, or that the overall stark socioeconomic polarity will be resolved. I would also be very sceptical and critical of any temporary government that removes all opposition parties, without developing a more democratic system of multiple parties rather than the two party systems, and then proceed to arrest large numbers of the elite of a country. I think it is fairly safe to say that the majority of people with money in Bangladesh have achieved that money by stepping on the people below them, as with any capitalist system. Lets not be blinded here by what’s going on in the name of democracy, it is one power system being replaced by another, everyone in it for something rather than nothing — be that political power or hard cash, the two things will always be intertwined — people should try and remember the values that independent Bangladesh was founded on: liberty.
